Character introduction Pt. 2

 New day, next introduction.

Today I'd like you to meet Orym. 

 

Like Ayalynneah he is an elf. But different from the powerful sun mage he has almost no magic abilities. He is mainly a fighter, a warrior skilled in the art of combat. His main weapon is the sword.

However, he does have a little bit of magic in him. And in a juxtaposition to his being a warrior, his magic focuses on healing spells.

Orym might be a fighter, but he has a kind heart and values peace. He loves nature and retreats to quiet places in nature to relax and recharge.

He has known Ayalynneah and Althar for many years and considers them good friends. Added to that he has a ginormous crush on Ayalynneah, but thinks our dear sun mage is way out of his league.

And that is all I will tell you about Orym for now.

Next introduction will finally feature the already often mentoned moon mage, Althar.

Character introducton pt. 1

Soooo...after I already mentioned one of the main characters in the previous post, I think it's time for introductions.

I'll go one by one, starting with the main characters and adding side characters bit by bit, depending on when they appear in the story and how much of a relevance they have.

We'll begin with the first character I created. She really just started out as a random scribble...one of the many times when I started drawing with no expectations, just going with the flow and surprising myself with whatever ends up on the paper.

Don't be fooled...this process is not always successful. More often than not I screw up at some point and end up with a pile of angrily shredded paper.

Anyway, let's meet her.

Her name is Ayalynneah and as her pointed ears might give away, she is an elf. She is a sun mage. She is bright and caring, always spreading positivity. She is a hopeless romantic and has been pining for a certain elven warrior (whom I will introduce in a later post).

While overall being a happy person, don't get her angry. Like her cosmic association she has a fiery temper and once enraged definitely is a force to be reckoned with.

 

Oh...remember Althar? I mentioned him in my previous post. Him and Ayalynneah are siblings, she's a couple of years younger than him. Not that it really matters, since elves at average live several centuries and hardly age once they reached maturity.

Forgotten tales and hidden treasures pt. 1

 The epic title of this post is glamorising the fact that this is just bloopers and blurbs from my working process. A little, hopefully amusing, look behind the scenes.

So...I don't know if it's just me, but the more I work on a story, the more the characters develop a life of their own.

Take Althar, for example. One of the main characters who will be introduced properly in a later post.

 

In the first scribbles I did of him, as you can see above, he always has a cat around. ONE cat. During the writing process one cat turned into many and last night, as I was writing his profile, my mind convinced me to write the following sentence:

"Althar is a crazy cat dad."

I mean...you could get that impression of him, I guess. But it makes me giggle. I might keep the sentence in his profile description.

And with that, dear readers, welcome to the blog.

I started this project about a year ago. Initially just a scribble of an unnamed character, one artwork spawned more ideas and after some time, an entire world was born. Full of fantastic beings and magic.

At the moment I am still very much in the planning stage, collecting ideas and bringing them to paper. As artworks and in writing.

As the project grows, I hope to finish the first novel within the next two years. I am still undecided about the details of publishing, I'm still in the middle of research there.

For now...let's explore this magical realm together and see where the journey takes us.
